Glendon Place offers designs in a variety of topics, which means you're sure to find something you like and just can't live without!! Some designs simply require ordinary floss and a solid color of fabric, while others are more challenging and suggest using an over-dyed fabric, and may incorporate variegated floss, metallic braid and embellishments such as seed beads, buttons or glass/crystal treasures. Choosing to stitch a Glendon Place design will result in a needleart piece of heirloom quality that will be enjoyed by you, as well as family and friends for years to come.   Well, January just came and went! Goodness gracious, I'm just now updating the website and taking down Christmas designs!  It is true what they say about the older you get the faster time flies by. Rarely do I "wait" for things.  It's more like running as fast as I can to "catch up"!   Well, the annual Nashville show is right around the corner and the creative juices have been flowing at the Glendon Place design studio. Rather than wait until the end of February to "spring" the new designs on you, I thought I give you a sampling of what's to come so perhaps you can be as excited as I am about this new collection of designs.     All the Mandalas in the A-Maze-ing Desserts Collection are stitched with 6 different colors of Dinky Dyes silk floss and have 4 colors of Mill Hill Beads added to provided that extra bit of sweetness.  I like to refer to the beads as the "whip cream on top" or the "icing on the cake!"   They are all around 200w X 200h. Since they are all the same size, they look great alone are as many as you would like to add to your unique collection. I purposely designed each of them with the same number of colors and beads so that, if for example, you like one design in particular but would prefer to stitch it in a different color scheme, the colors are already selected for you. Now, isn't that as easy as pie!   Each design also uses a special color of Picture This Plus hand-dyed 28ct Cashel Linen.  Anyone who has ever ordered fabric from this company directly, knows that any of their colors are available in a large variety of fabric types and counts. So, if you prefer Aida, it's easy to get, not to mention the excellent service they provide.    Dinky Dyes silk floss is available from your local needlework shop.  If you do not have access to a shop, the floss packs for these designs will be available here on my website on March 1st. Dinky Dyes does not sell directly to the retail public.
